A Humble Beginning
My name is Namaga John Robert Wanjala, and I was born on July 2, 1984, in Kapenguria, Kenya. My mother, a Ugandan, was just 12 years old at the time, and my father, a Kenyan, was unfortunately absent from my life. When I was three, my mother brought me to Uganda and left me in the care of my grandmother, her father’s sister, while she returned to Kenya. She didn’t reunite with me until I was 16 years old.

Growing up in the mountainous region of Bumulegi, Sironko District, Bugisu Region, I began my education like any other child. However, my life took a challenging turn when I reached Primary Three. My grandfather fell ill, and I had to drop out of school to care for him while my grandmother tended to our garden. After four years, I rejoined school and completed my primary education in 1998. I then attended high school in 1999 but had to drop out again due to the long distance between home and school, coupled with food scarcity.
During this difficult period, I turned to alcohol and struggled with addiction, losing sight of my potential. But God intervened in my life through a good Samaritan who saw something meaningful in me despite my struggles. He offered to take me to town to find employment, and I accepted. Instead, he presented me with an opportunity to return to school, which I gratefully accepted. With his support, I completed high school.
In 2008, I got married, and in 2011, we were blessed with a baby boy. The good Samaritan who helped me also introduced me to Jesus, marking the beginning of my spiritual journey.
In 2011, I moved to Kenya, eventually settling in Mombasa, where I was mentored by servants of God who nurtured me in serving the Lord. Some of these influential figures include Apostle George Nyambeni of New Creation Ministries, Rev. Richard Mwembe of The King’s Worship Center, and Rev. Daniel Mwendwa of Mtwapa Worship Center.
The Birth of DeLeon’s Ministries and Victory School

A significant turning point came in 2019 when I met Pastor JD Deleon of Resurrection Ministries (now Resurrection Fire Ministries) in Topeka, Kansas. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he provided invaluable spiritual and financial support.

In 2021, while visiting Uganda, I received a divine message from God at the Lwakhakha border crossing between Uganda and Kenya. He instructed me to establish a school for underprivileged children. After praying and sharing this vision with Pastor JD, he sent $100 in January 2022 to help me get started. Today, our school serves nearly 100 children, providing them with free education and meals. Although we currently rent structures, God has graciously provided us with land that requires $12,000 to purchase.
Resurrection Fire Ministries, led by Pastor JD Deleon and Apostle Geri Deleon, has been our primary partner. We’ve also received support from other kind individuals, but we rely heavily on donations to operate the school. To supplement our limited funds, I’ve taken up farming to feed the children.
A Vision for the Future
My future plans are ambitious, with three main agendas:
1. Education: Establishing kindergarten, primary, high school, and college institutions.
2. Healthcare: Building health facilities to serve the surrounding communities.
3. Accommodation: Constructing homes for the homeless and churches for those who worship under trees due to lack of infrastructure.
Currently, I serve as a pastor under Resurrection Fire Ministries in Uganda, grateful for the journey and opportunities that God has provided.
